Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
PDF Measure (pdfmeasure.com) is operated by Charmillon LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, and what we don’t.
Your files stay on your device
PDF Measure runs in your browser. The PDFs you open are read and displayed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. Your measurements, markups, scale settings and tool preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can pick up where you left off. We can’t see them. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser’s settings.
Usage statistics
To learn which features people use, the site sends us anonymous usage events: which page you visited, the site that referred you, and actions such as “opened a PDF with 3 pages”, “picked the area tool”, “created a measurement” or “exported a PDF”. If the app runs into an error, it also sends a short technical description of it, so we can fix it. Events never include file names, file contents, or the values of your measurements or notes.
Along with each event, your browser sends technical details: your IP address, browser type, screen size and language. We use our own self-hosted copy of Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to turn these into aggregate statistics such as visitor counts, countries and browser types. Umami doesn’t store your IP address; it uses it to estimate your country and region and to count unique visitors with an identifier that changes regularly. We don’t use cookies or build profiles of individual visitors.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, PDF Measure sends no usage events at all.
Server logs
Like most websites, our servers may record technical information about requests, including IP addresses, for a limited time to keep the service secure and running.
Feedback
When you press Send in the app’s feedback form, we receive your message, the topic you picked, and your email address if you gave one. Unless you untick “Include app details”, we also receive the details the form lists under “See exactly what”: the app’s version, your browser and system, the screen layout and tool you were using, the scale you’d set, and a description of your PDF’s structure (its number of pages, file size, sheet size, PDF version and the program that made it). If you’re reporting an error, we receive its code. We never receive your PDF, its name, its text, or your measurements and markup. Feedback is sent only when you press Send, so the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control settings above don’t apply to it.
A person reads every message. We keep each one, with your email address if you gave one, in our private issue tracker on GitHub. We use your email address only to answer you or tell you when what you reported is fixed, and we never add you to a mailing list. To have your feedback deleted, email hello@pdfmeasure.com.
If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply and follow up. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
Sharing
We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising. We share it only with the providers that host our servers and email, and with GitHub, Inc., which holds the feedback you send, so they can provide those services to us, or when the law requires it.
Children
PDF Measure is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the date at the top. If we start offering accounts or cloud storage, we’ll describe what they collect here before they launch.
